Michael Buble was born in Burnaby, British Columbia and grew up listening to his grandfather's jazz records. He gives much credit to his grandfather for his influence and encouragement in his musical tastes. At the age of seventeen, he won first prize in a Canadian Youth Talent Search and soon pursued his musical career in North America. His theatre performance as Elvis in the Red Rock Diner road show, star of Forever Swing, and the recording of three independent albums paved his way to commercial success. Buble received two Genie Award nominations in 2000 for both songs he wrote for the film Here's to Life.

His career breakthrough came when an associate to Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, saw Buble perform at a business party. Mulroney, after asking Buble to perform at his daughter's wedding, introduced him to Grammy award winning producer David Foster (who had worked previously with Josh Groban). He recorded his self-titled album in 2000 under his '143' record label which features a range of standards and era sounds. It was released in early 2003 and went Platinum. Notable singles include "Kissing a Fool", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", and "Sway". He went on to land many award nominations and even won the "Best New Artist" award at the Juno Awards of 2004.

Buble's second studio album, It's Time, was hugely successful with feature covers of Beatles and Ray Charles songs and also included the hit single, "Home". At the 2006 Junos, Buble took away most of the awards (the equivalent to the American Grammy Awards), even being nominated for the Juno Fan Choice Award. He is managed by Bruce Allen who also manages Martina McBride and Bryan Adams. Michael Buble is currently being heard in radio stations across the country performing his new hit song "Everything" from his third album, Call Me Irresponsible, and continuing to tour.
