He was arrested again on October 5, 2007 in Boise, ID on felony fugitive charges after Georgia authorities accused him of possessing a controlled substance. The charges were later dropped.

He was arrested again on January 23, 2008. A K-9 Unit recovered 105 grams of marijuana, almost 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of MDMA and $22,000 in cash near Yuma, AZ. He was charged with four felonies. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Rolling Stone Magazine named him as "Best MC of 2008" and the same year Blender Magazine tagged him as the "Best Rock Star Alive." On November 11, 2008 Lil Wayne became the first hip-hop act to ever perform at the Country Music Awards. He performed with Kid Rock for the song "All Summer Long" in which he played guitar. He was nominated for eight Grammys that year. As of 2008 according to MTV, Lil Wayne has released more music in the last two years than the legendary Tupac Shakur.
