Keith Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand and later lived in Queensland, Australia. At age seven, he began his music career and began winning young singing contests by age eight. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1992 where he worked as a guitarist for Brooks & Dunn. Unfortunately, while in Nashville, Keith became addicted to cocaine and in 1998, he checked himself into Cumberland Heights in determination to give up the habit. In 1999, after cleaning up, he released a self-titled American debut album which produced 5 hits and secured several awards. Golden Road was released in 2002 which spawned the hit single "Somebody Like You", which spent eight consecutive weeks at the top of the charts and catapulted his career into high-gear.

Other best-selling hit songs were "Better Life", "You'll Think of Me", "The Lucky One" and he even made Billboard history with "Once In A Lifetime", which debuted at #17, breaking the record held by Garth Brooks. He is also a winner of numerous "Golden Guitars" presented annually during the "Tamworth Country Music Festival" in Australia.

Keith has dated Laura Sigler, a veterinary technician, supermodel Niki Taylor, and married actress Nicole Kidman on June 25, 2006, at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in the grounds of St. Patrick's Estate, Manly in Sydney. He checked himself into the Betty Ford Center in California for rehab on October 19, 2006, staying for three months to complete the process. He then announced his return tour to promote his album, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing for 2007.
