The Jonas Brothers are a highly successful American pop band that originates from New Jersey and consists of the three brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. Their beginning was a spur off of Nick's initial success as a solo artist. He began performing at the age of six when he found his place in show business and began performing on Broadway by the age of seven. Before spawning his soon-to-be-successful music career, he acted in several major plays, including A Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, and The Sound of Music. His first musical release was a song written by he and his father called "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)", which became a hit on Christian radio. In 2004, the three brothers began working together more closely on a self-titled album that received limited exposure and included a new solo recording of "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)" and a new one, "Dear God". In early 2005, Steve Greenberg of Columbia Records liked Nick's voice (but not the album they had recorded) and signed he and his brothers as a group act. After being signed to Columbia, they kicked around ideas for a group name, but finally settled on "Jonas Brothers". Throughout the same year, they toured with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney and the Backstreet Boys (among others) and worked towards the release of their first band album It's About Time. Their first single from the album was "Mandy" (12-27-05), followed by "Time for Me to Fly" in February. Their music was featured on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network on various shows.

The album was released on August 8, 2006, but only had a very limited number of copies at only 50,000, causing a rift between the band and Sony promoters. In early 2007, the Jonas Brothers were dropped from Columbia records. Without a label, the band quickly signed with Hollywood Records in February 2007 and released songs like "Kids of the Future" (Meet the Robinsons soundtrack) and "I Wanna Be Like You" from Disneymania 5. They released their second band album on August 7, 2007, self-titled Jonas Brothers, which reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its first week. Following the album success, the band appeared on the popular Disney Channel Show Hannah Montana (performing "We Got the Party" with Miley Cyrus), performed at the Miss Teen USA contest, and also appeared at the Disney Channel Games for a two-song performance. Their final 2007 performance was of their hit single "Hold On" at Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve.

For 2008, the Jonas Brothers will kick off their Look Me In The Eyes Tour (January 31, in Tucson Arizona. Disney Channel has also signed the brothers to a concert special/movie called Camp Rock that will premiere in June 2008, followed by a TV series called J.O.N.A.S! (Junior Operatives Networking As Spies), also scheduled for 2008. A new musical album is said to be released on July 8, 2008.
